When medical fees paid by the insured of National Health Insurance exceed a designated amount for one patient at the same medical facility within one month, which varies depending on the householdfs combined income, the insured is reimbursed of the difference ( subject to approved expenses by the National Health Insurance) after a claim is submitted and processed.

Effective in April 2007, by presenting to the medical facility a GENDO-GAKU TEKIYO NINTEISHO (Certificate of Difference), the above difference is paid to the relative medical facility, enabling the insured to pay only net amount.

For obtaining a GENDO-GAKU TEKIYO NINTEISHO, visit Kokumin Kenko Hoken ka ( the National Insurance Section ) of the city office or General Service Center, FACE bldg. JR Funabashi Station, South Exit carrying National Health Insurance Card.
