(Sushi-rice wrapped in thin fried Tofu )

Sushi is a well-known Japanese food. Inari-zushi is Sushi-rice wrapped in small bags of Aburage@(thin fried Tofu) boiled in soy sauce and sugar.

  • Ingredients@`4 servings`

    • 2 1/2 cups rice

    • 2 1/2 cups water

    • 8 Aburage ( thin deep-fried Tofu )

    • 1 tbsp. roasted sesame seeds

3 1/2  tbsps. rice vinegar

2 tbsps. sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

‚aDCooking broth of Aburage

 300 ml water

‹L†

2 tsps. Dashi-no-moto (Japanese powdered stock)

2 tbsps. each Sake and Mirin

‹L†

4 tbsps. soy sauce

‹L†

sugar 6 tbsps

    1. Wash rice, drain water and leave it for 1 hour. Cook rice with 2 1/2 cups of water.

    2. Mix the ingredients of A and add it to the@cooked rice and let cool.

    3. Cut each Aburage in half and carefully open the cut end to make two bags. Pour boiling water over the Aburage bags to remove excess oil.

    4. Put the ingredients of B in a pan and bring to the boil. Add the Aburage bags in the    cooking broth and simmer them at medium heat until all liquid is absorbed.

    5. Mix the sesame seeds in the rice.

    6. Make 16 pieces of rice balls, pack each of them into the bag and fold its end.
