These days a lot of different types of ready-prepared sauce are available at the stores. The professional taste can be had easily at home. Let's try Yakitori (Grilled Chicken) using the Yakitori sauce@sold at supermarkets.
Ingredients (4 servings):
Chicken thigh 500g
Shishito (small green peppers) 16
Long onions 2
Tare (sauce) for Yakitori 100ml
Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces.
Steam the chicken for 5 minutes. (half-cooked)
Steaming in advance saves the time to grill and to get rid of too much fat.
Cut the long onions into about 3cm long.
Arrange the chicken and the onions or the chicken and the peppers alternatively on bamboo skewers.
Brush the chicken with the sauce and grill. Repeat this a few times.
Chicken liver can be used as well.
Yakitori with salt instead of sauce tastes beautiful.
