Flying a kite

Flying a kite is said to have started in China then it is now enjoyed all over the world.  It became one of the New Year activities in Japan since the Edo period regardless of people’s status.  There are many different types and sizes of kites such as birds, dragons, Yakko-dako (man-shaped kite) or chain kites (many kites are tied in a series).  Nowadays people enjoy all the year round flying a kite as an easy play which requires just open air and wind blow.

It is very seldom nowadays to come across with a boy devising the superior kites with his father or grandfather because various sizes and types of kites are available at shops.

Knack to fly kite well depends on solely keeping its horizontal balance.

Hold the kite standing to the wind backward and lift the kite upward pulling and releasing the kite string alternatively.  Kite flying can be enjoyed winning the height competition or fighting with other kite by cutting its string or dropping to the ground.

Flying a kite gives us such a satisfaction like floating in the air but don’t fly your kites near power lines or under the weather forecasts of thunderstorm as there is a danger of electrocution.  It is also advised not to fly a kite near the airport.
