popular Japanese dish in hot summer when people have small appetite. The
following is an Ochazuke recipe with grilled salmon. Besides salmon, grilled
chicken or salted cod roe is often preferred.

salted salmon fillets, 2 toasted Nori (dried laver), 2tbsp. white roasted
sesame seeds, 6 Oba (beefsteak plant), 4 bowls hot rice
soup: 2 cups water, 1 tps. Dashi-no-moto (powdered Japanese stock), 2 tbsp.
each of soy sauce, Sake
Grill the salmon fillets about 4 minutes on each side. Remove the skin and
bones, and break into small pieces while warm.
Put the water and seasonings into a pan and boil.
Cut the Nori and Oba into thin strips.
Put the rice in each individual serving bowl and place the salmon, sesame, Oba and Nori on top. Pour
the soup of (2). Instead of the soup, hot green tea or boiling water is also
good. Add Wasabi if you like.

content of a sachet over a bowl of hot rice and just add hot green tea or
