Influenza Vaccinations

Winter in Japan is the season of influenza. Babies/infants/ the elderly tend to get serious flu.

In order to avoid catching influenza, or to prevent its increased severity in case, you are recommended to get influenza vaccination, preferably by the middle of December. Two injections are usually given to children under 13 years of age with 4 week interval, while one time injection is usually good for people of 13 years and over.  Vaccination fee is expected to be in 3000~4000 yen range per one injection depending on clinics/hospitals.  Incidentally, the elderly of 65 years and over, registered in Funabashi City will receive Monshinhyo (questionnaire sheet) in October from the City Office and they can get the vaccination for 1000 yen by presenting that sheet.

In any case you are advised to make a reservation of the vaccination and also ask the fee amount in advance at your nearby clinic/hospital.
