KenkaSumo and Kagura at Annual Festival
  at Funabashi Dai Jingu

From around 11:00 on Oct. 20 at Funabashi Dai Jingu

Origin of Kenka Sumou dates back to 400 years ago. When Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun in Edo era visited Funabashi area, children’s sumo was presented to him as an entertainment.

At present, Sumou, together with Kagura is demonstrated as a part of Dai Jingu’s annual festival. Those who want to participate in Sumou tournament, call Shrine office in October.
