Specialty product of Funabashi  < Pears >

Funabashi is well-known for delicious pears and there are about 160 pear growing farmers and about 100 farmers’ direct sale stands. The annual production is estimated about 1.7 billion yen.

Among the cultivated pears variety, Kosui shares approx.60%, followed by Hosui,Niitaka and others.

In order to enable customers enjoying the best pears, Funabashi pear growers wish to harvest only fully ripened pears and sell directly to customers, through the quick home delivery and the farmers’ direct sale stands.

For gifts, 5 kgs or 10kgs unit packed in the carton boxes, is popular and delivered to the customers within 1-2days through the quick home delivery.

The service starts usually from mid August.

In addition, there can be seen a lot of improvised farmers’ stands selling pears, towards mid August till late September, along the prefectural road Route 288.

Let’s try delicious FunabashiPears, just picked in this morning !
