The city of Funabashi and Chiba Prefecture are measuring
the levels of radiation in the atmosphere just as the Ministry
of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology did with
in Fukushima Prefecture.
So far, the results were below both the maximum amount of
radiation allowed when using the school grounds (3.8μSv/h),
and the level where steps must be taken to lessen the amount
of radiation (1.0μSv/h).
The amount of radiation in the atmosphere differs on the day’s
weather, such as wind direction, and rain. The city will continue to
measure the amount of radiation, so check the city’s web site at
If you have any questions about the radiation measurements,
contact the Environmental Conservation Section
(tel.047-436-2453). Any questions about the effects of radiation to
the body, contact the Public Health Center (tel.047-431-4191).
