Cautions for blackouts

Be prepared for planned or unexpected blackouts.

Funabashi City is divided into some groups. You should know which group your area belongs to. Please check the website of TEPCO or Funabashi City.  Ask your neighbors and look carefully for notices around your area.

Let’s get ready!

1.      Unplug as many electric appliances as possible before the planned blackouts.

2.      Save some water into empty bottles or a bath tub in case of no water supply.

3.      Ice packs are helpful in refrigerators when there are blackouts take place.

4.      Charge your cell phone fully; get a portable radio and a flash light. When you use candles, be careful of earthquakes.

5.      When you go to school or work, transportation may not always be readily available when you need it.  You should check with the person in charge what you should do in that case.

6.      Prepare your meal earlier when the blackouts are scheduled.

7.      Use the stairs instead of elevators when the blackouts are planned.
