the end of March to the beginning of April, it is cherry-blossom viewing season
with joy of spring arrival. Where are you going to this year?
have many lovely spots to see cherry-blossoms in Funabashi such as the
H.C.Andersen Park, Otaki Park, Yakuendai Park, riverside of Ebi-river,
Nagatsugawa regulating reservoir. Further more, intercity of Funabashi, in
Tokyo area, there are many attractions. I recommend one of good places: Asukayama
Park is a visiting spot made for “Edokko” living in down town Tokyo by Tokugawa
Yoshimune who was the 8th General of Edo
Shogunate. This park has 650 cherry blossom trees. You will lose words if you
see the scene that they are in full bloom. Let’s enjoy
Japanese culture since Edo era through cherry-blossom viewing in this park.
Monorail is available to the top of the hill, so even small children and
elderly people can come up easily to the top and enjoy the panoramic view.
Convenient transportation is another attractive
point. This park is near from station of railway, subway and Toden. Toden is the street
car which runs between Minowabashi and Waseda. It is nice to experience
downtown of Tokyo.
How to get there:
- Oji station (JR line) central
or south exit 3minites walk
- Oji station
(Namboku subway line) exit no.1 5minites walk
Asukayama station (the Toden Arakawa street car line)
