What sort of city is it?
Hayward
is a beautiful city with full of green and is attentive to residential
people and conservation of nature.
Since its incorporation as a city in
1876, it had developed mainly through agriculture, dairy farming and can
manufacturing.
In 1950's it attracted the public attention as
"Golden Hill Town."
Now it is continuing development as the
center of commerce and industry, financing, education and as a
comfortable bed town with traffic convenience and a shopping center as
well.
The languages spoken in schools in the city are said to
reach up to 37. It is a multi-racial and multi-cultural city. Such
variety is utilized for city planning and events for citizens.

In downtown Hayward having 11 storied City Center Bldg.
in the center, such cultural facilities as Centennial Hall, Little
Theater, Japanese Garden etc. are located including various shops and
offices. On top of the green hill the building of California State
University Hayward stands. The building is well known as the landmark of
Hayward. You can also visit historical buildings like History Museum and
old churches.
The city resembles Funabashi in terms of city structure
and geographical condition in that the population increased 6.5 times
during 20 years as the bed town of a big city (San Francisco) and that
both cities are harbor cities |
